Florence is the main town of and is the most famous and visited city of the region. Its province comprehends the Mugello area, the Arno valley and the Florentine Chianti.
Siena is the second Tuscan tourist city after Florence. Its countryside offers beautiful landscapes with wide vineyards from which the famous Chianti wine is produced
Arezzo is world famous for its goldsmiths. The territory of the province extends between the Chianti area and Umbria and comprehends the Casentino area.
Prato is the industrial heart of Tuscany and is well known for its textile production.
Pistoia is a town rich of works of art. The province comprehends the skiing resort of Abetone and the two important thermal towns of Montecatini Terme and Monsummano Terme.
Lucca is halfway between Florence and the sea. The territory of the province comprehends the Versilia coast, with its beaches crowded with tourists in the summer and the wooded areas of the Alta Versilia and the Garfagnana.
The Apuan Alps, with their marble mines, overlook the two cities of Massa and Carrara. Here Michelangelo would go to choose in person the marble blocks that he would have used for his masterpieces. In the north-west part of the province extends the Lunigiana, one of the most charming corners of Tuscany.
The town of Pisa is world famous for its Leaning Tower. The territory of the province is characterized by gentle hills and pretty countryside villages. In the south part of the province there is the ancient Etruscan city of Volterra.
Grosseto is the main town of the famous Maremma area.
